It’s kind of sorta totally amazing, y’all, that I get to bring to you an interview with Colleen Houck, author of the newly released Tiger’s Dream! I fell in love with the Tiger’s Curse saga way back when it first released and have been anticipating the final book for years so not only am I sharing this interview but a GIVEAWAY for copies of the book too!
Are you ready?!
All About Colleen
You wrote a book! That’s pretty awesome. Why don’t you tell us a bit about what inspired Tiger’s Dream and the rest of the Tiger’s Curse series?
The tiger series was inspired by Beauty and the Beast. I wanted a beast as my hero and threw out the idea of a bear, a lion, or a bird and chose a tiger. The tiger led me to India and Indian mythology and then the series was born!
Walk us through a day in the life of Colleen Houck.
My life is pretty boring actually. My hubby works from home most days too so we get to spend a lot of time together. The morning is spent on email, social media, and prepping for events and the afternoon is reserved for writing. When I’m doing really well, I manage to finish the laundry, prep for dinner, and do some exercise too.
I know asking someone’s all-time favorite book is a loaded question so what’s your current favorite read?
I read a lot. There’s always a book by my bed but I listen to a lot of audiobooks as well. Right now I’m listening to The Belles by Dhonielle Clayton and I love it! My new favorite is always the one I’m reading.
Alright, the ultimate question: why should we read your book?
Tiger’s Dream is like the key to the whole series. If you don’t read this one, you won’t truly understand the curse. This book turns the curse on it’s head and is the, “Luke, I am your father,” moment of the series. SO many secrets and all of them are revealed in the pages.
Describe yourself in 3 words.
Organized, Generous, Kind
What is your most embarrassing memory?
Catching my high heel on a stair and tumbling all the way down ending with a bruised tailbone and my skirt over my head.
Your characters are sent into the Hunger Games. Who wins?
You just won America’s Got Talent. What’s your talent?
Probably translating a song into American Sign Language
Coffee or tea?
Best ice cream flavor ever?
What is one piece of advice you would tell everyone?
Never give up on your dreams but stop dreaming and go to work.
A HUGE thank-you to Colleen for answering a few questions! Y’all can check out Tiger’s Dream below and don’t forget to read up on the previous books in the series if you haven’t already (hint: they’re great reads)!
