So. . . I do this thing where, when I can’t find something that I want, I make it myself. Which happened this morning. I remembered I have a Google+ page for the blog that I never use and thought, “Oh hey, I should follow other bloggers on Google+.” After which I realized that I’d need to go to every blogger’s blog to find their page, assuming they have one in the first place and it’s linked there.
To be honest, I don’t have the time to do that. Wish I did, but I don’t.
I went to social media and asked if there was a database or something similar for bookish people that had their social media links and no one knew of any. Then I did some searching of my own and couldn’t find anything either. It might exist but I couldn’t find it myself.
So I made one 😂
The Book Community Media Dashboard
Because I love Google Forms and Sheets, I set up the Book Community Media Dashboard. This spreadsheet is intended to collect book lovers from all different media platforms and make it easy to find other book people on your favorite media platforms!
How it works
You fill out the form with your blog/bookstagram/booktube/etc name and any media links you have (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, etc.) and it automatically sorts all of your responses to the appropriate tab so people can visit the sheet and see who’s on Twitter, who’s on Facebook, and so on. I’ve currently added the more popular media platforms but if there are others people are using I’ll add them in too! (There’s a place to put those extra links!)
Furthermore, I’ve left places to add your Patreon and Ko-Fi links (if there is another platform you use, add it to the extra links place)! And you can select if you’re an affiliate for certain booksellers (Amazon, the Book Depository, etc). If more than one person is an affiliate for one not listed, then I’ll make sure to add that too!
This is open to ALL members of the book community. Whether you’re a book blogger, bookstagrammer, booktuber, or just a book lover, I encourage you to add your media link(s)!
Like the idea?
This sheet is brand new so obviously there won’t be many entries on it just yet and I don’t want to add anyone on my own without their permission. If you like the idea of finding your fellow book lovers on different (social) media platforms, please share! The more people to complete the form, the more bookworms you’ll be able to connect with through the sheet!
This isn’t an official feature on NovelKnight just yet but if there’s enough interest in keeping this sheet around, I’ll create a permanent link on the blog!
