Can you believe we’re already over two weeks into the new year?!
The Beat the Backlist reading challenge is already underway but I’ve seen a few people mention they are having trouble keeping track of all the books they plan to read for the challenge, which ones they’ve submitted for points, and so on.
A few people have mentioned that they wait to add their books to a particular Goodreads shelf until after they’ve added them to their team’s Rafflecopter, so that’s one option!
In response to the comments, I decided to set something up for those of you who want something a bit more than using Goodreads but not something that’s hard to use. So I’ve set up a simple spreadsheet that allows y’all to track the books you’ve read, where you’ve reviewed those books, and if you’ve submitted those books/reviews to your team’s Rafflecopter for points!
The Sheet Breakdown
When you open the sheet, you’re going to find some information about how to use it (so definitely r
ead over that)! Once you either download or make a copy of the sheet, you’re free to use it however you want.
On the left side of the sheet you’ll find a place to add the book title and author, as well as track how many books you’ve read. I’ve already added numbers 1-10 for you!
Once you’ve added your books in (you can add your TBR beforehand, add books as you go, whatever system works for you), you can track your reading and reviewing!
The middle set of columns allows you to track whether you’ve read the book or not, and if you’ve submitted the book to your team’s Rafflecopter yet.
Off to the right you can put in all the places you want to review backlist books. I’ve only included retail websites as they’re the only ones that count for points, but if you wanted to check whether you posted to Goodreads or your blog, you could add that too! All the columns are set up to color-code based on whether you’ve completed something or not (N = red/no, Y = green/yes).
If y’all find this helpful, I’d love to hear from you! And if you have any suggestions/additions for the spreadsheet I’d love to hear them too! This is meant to be a very simple tracking sheet but I understand that it might not cover everything for some of y’all!
Let me know if you have any issues accessing the spreadsheet!
