Friday 5 @ 5 – Favorite Fictional Worlds

POSTED ON March 3, 2017 BY Austine IN Weekly

Friday 5@5 is a weekly feature hosted here on NovelKnight to wrap up the week with a fun (and short) list because we know y’all want to get on with your weekends!

This Week’s Prompt:

Favorite Fictional Worlds

Being the fantasy lover that I am, there are many worlds I wish to visit, many more I likely shouldn’t because I definitely wouldn’t survive. But there are certainly a few that I would love to jump into, such as…

The Four Londons

V.E. Schwab created not one, but FOUR worlds that sound delightfully intriguing. Well, I’m not sure about Black London but White London sounds promising, Red London a dream, and Grey London the familiar. Give me the magic!

the Library

Okay, who wouldn’t want to visit a giant library with books and records from not just your world, but ALL of the alternate universes out there? That sounds like a dream come true. Plus dragons and fae and all sorts of unusual creatures to meet.

Alright, it’s a real place but I want to go to the Scotland with Jamie Fraser. I don’t care about the time period. Just give me the Scotsman and everything will be alright.

Boston, 1919

It seems like an ordinary Boston except for a particular skill involving blood. Plus, I’d love to meet Ada and Corinne. Their adventure ended a bit too soon for my liking. I need more! And why not go on their next adventure with them?

The Night Court

Alright, y’all know the REAL reason this is one of my favorites, right? But in general the Night Court sounds both beautiful and amazing. And I like the night.

What are some of your favorite fictional worlds?

  1. I may have to start participating in this meme, Austine. I love the idea. And I love that it’s on Friday’s instead of on a week night when I’m super busy. Lol. Out of the books you listed, I’ve only read A Darker Shade of Magic, and it’s one of my favorite books/series EVER! So had I participated in this week’s prompt, I definitely would have picked the four London’s, for sure. Hopefully I’ll get to read Iron Cast sometime in the near future, as well as The Invisible Library. That one sounds amazing!
