Friday 5 @ 5 – Animal Covers at Their Finest

POSTED ON February 3, 2017 BY Austine IN Weekly

Friday 5@5 is a weekly feature hosted here on NovelKnight to wrap up the week with a fun (and short) list because we know y’all want to get on with your weekends!

This Week’s Prompt:

Books with Animals on the Cover

I mean, y’all know I love animals, right? Considering I spent 4 years studying them for a degree that is kind of useful now lol

It was hard picking covers with animals because I was torn between the PRETTY covers and the ones with animals that I loved in the book itself. But it’s safe to say that I’m a sucker for books that feature an animal.

Nevernight by Jay Kristoff (the UK edition)

I just LOVE the artwork on this, how the smaller illustrations are woven into the main picture is just beautiful.

The Diabolic by S.J. Kincaid

I don’t think butterflies get enough attention and this one reminds me of something beautiful yet deadly (like Nemesis). It’s also an amazing book so…there’s that.

Geist by Philippa Ballantine

THERE’S A LION. Okay, lion/man if you want to get technical. AND he’s on all the covers of the series which is fabulous.

Sorcerer to the Crown by Zen Cho

Y’all have to understand. I LOVE dragons. Mythical or not they are an animal and deserve to be on this list!

A Natural History of Dragons by Marie Brennan

Hey look! Another dragon! I mean, ALL the books in this serious feature some kind of mythical reptilian creature so thumbs up to those too!

WHAT ARE some of your favorite animal covers?

Next Week’s Prompt:

Books you read based solely on the cover
