*knock knock knockknock knock*
Do you want to write a novel? Come on lets go and plot. We only see this once a year, it’s finally here, and you’ve got to give it all you got!
This is (not) Halloween, pantsers scream in the dead of night. This is (not) Halloween, everybody write a scene, keyboards click till the characters are all a-fright.
But despite the 50k, and my plot holes, and my brain, I’ve always yearned to be a published author. Yep, I’d rather be called crazy for this WriMo challenge frenzy, ’cause way down deep inside I’ve got a dream.
I never thought inspiration essential. It’s crude and unoriginal and plain. But maybe there’s a glimmer of potential if allied with my vision and brain.
Look for the bare necessities, the simple bare necessities. Forget about your worries and your doubt. I mean the bare necessities, Old NaNoWriMo’s recipes that brings the bare necessities to life!
Don’t let it in, don’t let it read, be the writer you always knew you’d be. Create, don’t delete, don’t let doubt grow! Just let it go!
(cue writer-ly noises)
You(r fingers) must be swift as the coursing river, with all the twists of a great typhoon, with all the (mental) strength of the raging fire, write the mysteries of the dark side of the moon!
You can own the world and build, all you’ll know is your world until you can write with all the colors of the wind.
Books don’t just appear, they take work and time. Nobody learns without getting it wrong. I won’t give up, no I won’t give in ’til I reach the end and then I’ll keep on again. No I won’t stop, I need to try everything, I need to try even though I could fail.
Tell everybody I’m on my way, new stories and places to see. With blue skies ahead, yes, I’m on my way, and there’s 50,000 words waiting for me.
I have often dreamed of a far off plot where a great wide world will be waiting for me. Where the crowds will come when they see my book and a voice keeps saying that is what I’m meant to be. I will find my plot! I can go the distance. I will face the odds, if I can be strong (and write 50k).
I don’t have time for dancin’, that’s just gonna have to wait a week or two. Ain’t got time for messin’ around and it’s my time to shine. And I am almost there, I’m almost there. People out there think I’m crazy but I don’t care.
Bless my soul, I was on a roll, writer of the week with the best word goal. I’m a pro! I’m running the show. Point me at a pen and you’re talking book K.O. I was a no one, a zero, zero. Now I’m a WriMo, I’m an author! From zero to WriMo in no time flat, zero to WriMo just like that.
I actually have no idea why I made this. A song came on in my iPod shuffle and apparently NaNoWriMo has taken over my brain enough to start random parody lyrics?
Hopefully you found this at least as partially enjoyable as I did in making it!
