Ten Books I Want To Re-Read

This week’s Top Ten is a rewind to a past topic. Thankfully they have a list of some of the ones from years past so I picked a 2014 topic (before I got into the weekly meme). I’m an avid re-reader, especially of series with installments yet to be released. Totally one of those people who re-reads THE ENTIRE SERIES before the next book releases (and in the case of Harry Potter, I did it before both book and movie releases). Plus there are a few series that I always go to at least once a year.

Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas

With Empire of Storms releasing in early September, I have plans to re-read the entire TOG series right before #5 comes out to make sure it’s all fresh in my mind.

Vampire Academy by Richelle Mead

It’s been FOREVER since I read this series and it’s one of my favorites. It came up in a Twitter chat this past week and now me and NAME are planning a #VAReadAlong this Friday – Sunday (August 12-14) for anyone who wants to join in!

The Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern

I read this book last summer and have been meaning to re-read it since it was so good but just haven’t had the time with all the new books coming out that I haven’t read yet. BUT I want to read it again before the year is out!

Wild Magic by Tamora Pierce

Almost every year, I re-read this series (as well as the Song of the Lioness books) in memory of why I became such an avid reader in the first place. And it’s time to take these books on again.

Eragon by Christopher Paolini

I’ll be honest: I totally didn’t read the fourth book of this series. Brisingr made me so mad and took so long to get through that I had absolutely no interest in returning for Inheritance. Time has passed since then and I think I’m ready to try again but I don’t remember a damn thing so definitely need a refresh.

Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Rowling

I haven’t re-read the HP series since the last movie release so it’s been some time. Prior to that I read them roughly twice a year for several years. With Cursed Child out now, I’d love to revisit the world to, at the very least, enjoy the adventures of Harry and the crew. I’ve heard mixed reviews of Cursed Child which make me hesitant to read it but eventually I’ll get around to it.

Shadow and Bone by Leigh Bardugo

This is such a great series and it’s been far too long since I read them. And with Crooked Kingdom coming out soon, might just have to do a massive re-read of the Bardugo books…

Tithe by Holly Black

A few years ago I went on a serious faery kick, reading whatever I could get my hands on. Beside the Wicked Lovely series, Holly Black’s books became some of my favorites. Haven’t read them since high school but need to change that.

Graceling by Krisin Cashore

Another series I haven’t picked up in a while. Been so many fantasy releases lately that I can barely keep up with those, let alone return to a favorite series.

City of Bones by Cassandra Clare

It feels like a lifetime since these books sat on my currently-reading stack next to my bed. Considering the size of them it’s hard to fit them in with all the other books I want/need to read. And still haven’t watched Shadowhunters yet so maybe a coordinated re-read/binge watch???

What books do you want to re-read?

  1. I really enjoyed the Wild Magic series. I only re-read the first 3 HPs though.

I also chose to list rereads (although I combined it with 2 other topics as well)

    • Thank goodness for quick reading. Planning a book-a-day up to the release (which will hopefully arrive ON release day…*fingers crossed*). And they are truly fabulous! 😀

    • Oh that one really is good! I’m not sure if I have a favorite, though I’ve always loved the first one but then again, the whole series is fantastic. Hard to choose! 🙂
